If you choose a fabric with large prints, they will be centered or placed identically onto each swag. Valance is installed onto a decorative pole. Excluding trims, swag drop is 19 inches and jabot length is 33 inches. The number of swags and trumpets for each valance depends on your chosen width. A three-swag version is displayed on the left. This product is custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.
Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Are the tassel ties optional?Tassel ties are required for this particular valance.
I want to install this valance onto my French door but I am afraid or unable to drill into it. What should I do? If your door is made of a metallic material that can't be drilled into, try a magnetic curtain rod. There is no drilling involved at all.
Some store-bought valances have more swags and yet have the same width as your victory swag valances with less swags. Why is that? One of the best examples to emphasize the difference between store-bought and custom window treatments is a victory
swag valance. Decorator fabrics not only are of better quality and structure, but more of it is used to create deeper, more generous folds. In addition, decorator linings give it more shape and volume, something a lined store-bought valance rarely can offer. A custom victory
swag simply offers more coverage because of its richer
swags.
Will this valance work on a bay or bow window? Valances with trumpets and
jabots such as this one cannot bend around corners. While a single extra wide valance that spans across several windows may not work, multiple smaller valances will. The key is to look at each window separately and make sure that you have at least six inches of wall space between adjacent windows. If you decide to go with separate drapery poles with finials for each window, then each valance should cover the window frame only slightly to allow room for finials.
What kinds of trims do you suggest? I'm afraid that I will pick the wrong kind. Each product has already been configured to allow you to choose only trims that will work with it. Short trims are not offered on valances with deep, voluminous folds and similarly, big and bulky trims aren't an option when it comes to scalloped products with sharp edges and curves that need to be sewn with utmost attention to detail. Feel free to choose any trim that the product allows in its drop-down list. And remember, colors don't have to match exactly, but they need to go together.
The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product. More than likely, the fabric
repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with well-centered prints, as well as a product with proper
swag volume.
What kind of drapery pole can I use with this valance?A decorative drapery pole with a diameter up to 2 inches works for the victory
swag valance.
Can I pair this valance up with draperies?Yes, it's quite a rich look actually. You just have to make sure that your valance projects at least five inches from the window to ensure that draperies can fit underneath it. You will need a matching wooden or metal bracket that extends at least five inches. Those are quite inexpensive and readily available at many retailers who sell drapery hardware. Also, if you have room, you can add draperies to make your window appear larger. Try installing each drapery at least ten inches away from the window and adding an empire
swag valance that is much wider than your window.
