Versatile Toss Over Valance

Available widths: 27" to 47"

If simplicity is something that you strive for when it comes to designing your home, the toss over valance may be just what you were looking for to dress your windows. Unlike most other valances that slide onto a curtain pole through a rod pocket, this valance is actually tossed over the decorative pole or tension rod. How simple! The advantage of this unique custom one-point valance is that the back side of the valance can be pulled down slightly for privacy. The valance on the left is shown in its minimal length, which shows about 5 inches of the contrasting lining.

Premium lining and accent tassel are included in the starting price. This valance can also be entirely corded and interlined as additional options. If you choose a fabric with large prints, they will be centered onto each valance. This product is custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.

Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Will this valance work on a bay or bow window?
Certainly. Either choose to mount it inside or outside the window frame. This valance has no space-consuming jabots, so it's a great choice for those complicated windows that don't have much space in between such as corner, bay, or bow windows.

What kind of drapery pole do I need for this valance?
It may be obvious, but you need a round pole. Flat curtain rods won't work. However, because the valance does not slide onto the curtain pole like a pocket sleeve valance would, the diameter of the pole is irrelevant. You just have to keep in mind that for inside-mounted valances, you have to get a drapery pole that will fit within the depth of your window. For outside mounting, either a simple metal pole or a massive wooden pole will work.

I want to install this valance onto my French door but I am afraid or unable to drill into it. What should I do?
If your door is made of a metallic material that can't be drilled into, try a magnetic curtain rod. There is no drilling involved at all.

What is the minimal length?
The minimal length is exactly what is shown in the pictures. The two sides overlap with the backside pulled slightly lower to cover the tassel. Having said that, you can pull the backside up and down to control light and privacy.

What length should I order?
It depends. Let's say that you want to hang the valance in its minimal length configuration (as shown in the photo) and you need the total valance length to be 23 inches. The front of your valance would hang down by about 18 inches and the back would hang down by 23 inches, so your entire valance length, excluding any tassels, would be 18 + 23 = 41 inches.

The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product.
More than likely, the fabric repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with well-centered prints, as well as a product with proper swag volume.

Can I pair this valance up with draperies or shades?
We don't recommend this valance with shades, but using ring top draperies underneath or over it is a clever way to put together a window treatment ensemble that gives you beauty, privacy and light control all in one.
