Whether you're designing a whimsical children's room, a country style living room, an elegant bedroom, or any other room, a custom tie-up London valance is there to make a house feel more like a home. This gorgeous London style valance is made with ties so that you may adjust its length slightly, as needed. Depending on your chosen width, the length of this valance can be adjusted between 23 and 28 inches while still maintaining its beautiful custom shape. Patterns are matched across seams professionally.
Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions Can this valance be narrower or wider?
In order to maintain its shape with the proper festoon in the center, a width anywhere between 42 and 74 inches is available only. Can you make this longer to entirely cover my French door or floor-length window?
We don't recommend this particular valance any longer than what we offer. The longer it gets, the more it becomes a regular panel
and less a valance. The gathered bottom hem is the focus of this valance and a long version of it would draw your eye down (not to mention that it would compromise the shape). Many people misunderstand London valances. They are not intended to cover a window entirely. They are commonly made to cover 1/4 or 1/2 of your window (or even 2/3 of some short windows). Can I add trim to this valance?
We're sorry but we don't recommend trim for this particular valance. Therefore, it is not an option at this time. The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product.
More than likely, the fabric repeat
or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with perfectly centered prints. How much should I tie this valance?
It is best to keep the length in proportion to the width. A narrower valance less than 50 inches wide works best adjusted at a 23- to 25-inch length, whereas a wider valance up to 74 inches works best adjusted at a 28- to 29-inch length. There are exceptions - tall windows and floor-length windows are best left a little longer. Can you make the ties in the same fabric as the valance?
Yes, we can. All you have to do is select the same fabric for both the face fabric
and accent fabric options. What does patterns are matched across seams mean?
Quality drapery fabrics come in standard widths. For that reason, a valance wider than the actual fabric width must have several sections carefully and professionally sewn together. This requires that patterns flow continuously across seams. The following is an example of one of our pattern-matched window treatments:
