This unique valance puts a twist on the classic balloon valance. Our tailed balloon valance is made with whimsical tails and scalloped sections that give it a beautiful shape that resembles both a balloon valance and London valance.
Interlining is optional. The valance hangs flat on a decorative curtain pole without a return. A 3-inch rod pocket is standard, but it may be changed to 2 or 4 inches if needed. If you choose a fabric with large prints, they will be centered onto each valance. Possible widths: 42 to 49 inches. The valance is delivered already adjusted to a 23-inch length, but you may adjust it between 21 and 25 inches while still maintaining its beautiful and full shape.This product is custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.

Can this valance be gathered? No, this valance is intended to hang flat, as shown in the photo.
How do I adjust the length of the valance?The valance is made with ringlets in the back which you can tie together with the provided string. Tie it tightly and the valance assumes a shorter length, tie it loosely and the valance assumes a longer length. We recommend to adjust this tailed balloon valance between 21 and 25 inches. It can be adjusted to a slightly shorter or longer length, but we have found that it maintains its ideal shape at an 21- to 25-inch length.
When would I choose the fraction width? What does "width needs to be close, but not exact" mean? Fraction width is of importance when you are mounting the valance inside your window, which is commonly done in smaller rooms or when draperies are used over the valance. Inside widths need to be as exact as a quarter of an inch (instructions on how to measure for inside mounts can be found in our Help & Info Center). Because each valance is unique and they are made by humans and not "cookie-cutter" industrial machines, there may be a deviation of up to a quarter of an inch unless you specify a desired fraction width. However, for most people, this minor deviation is not of great concern.
What kinds of trims do you suggest? I'm afraid that I will pick the wrong kind. Each product has already been configured to allow you to choose only trims that will work with it. Short trims are not offered on valances with deep, voluminous folds and similarly, big and bulky trims aren't an option when it comes to scalloped products with sharp edges and curves that need to be sewn with utmost attention to detail. Feel free to choose any trim that the product allows in its drop-down list. And remember, colors don't have to match exactly, but they need to go together.
The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product. More than likely, the fabric repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with perfectly centered prints.
