Forget your aunt's rectangular, boring, dated mirror. Today's homeowners are covering their walls with round sunburst mirrors. Sunburst mirrors are considered contemporary elements. But because they were so popular back in the 1960s, they now also give a little bit of a retro, vintage feel. And the good thing is that these mirrors can be used anywhere in your home. They add a lot of glamor to entryways and foyers and look great above a bedroom dresser too.
Interior designer Tobi Fairley strikes a commendable balance between bold green and yellow in this room design:

The sunburst mirror that she chose...up close:

This sunburst mirror has a very playful and imaginative style. To us, it looked like it was made of toy blocks, but that is precisely why we found it so amusing. Room design by Los Angeles designer Kathryn Ireland, as featured in Veranda home magazine.

The dining area of this beachy cottage house, as featured in House Beautiful, simply exudes confidence and style with its trio of sunburst mirrors.

It may be small, but it makes a noticeable style statement: the designers at Joe Nye Interior Design sure know how to pick a sunburst mirror.

What's better than a mirror on a wall? A mirror on a mirror is. This entire wall was covered in mirrored glass and then topped off with a sunburst mirror as a focal point. All this extra light given off by the mirrors and a whole bunch of botanicals make this room look like a garden. Idea featured in Southern Accents.

And last, but not least - a small room was transformed with calming aqua blue walls, a heavy sunburst mirror in antique gold, and award-winning toile fabrics. Chinese Chinoiserie accents are continued in the toile pillows and chippendale table. Design courtesy of Thibaut, fabrics from Shangri-La collection.

Why are sunburst mirrors always with a golden frame? What if they made them in pink, white, blue, etc...? Why hasn't any genius entrepreneur at JCPenney thought of that yet? |
