Straight Kick Pleat Valance

Available widths: 26" to 60"

A straight kick pleat valance is one of the simplest and budget-friendly ways to dress up your windows. Not only that, but board-mounted valances are well-constructed window curtains that stand for quality and last a long time. The valance features a flat-panel construction with kick pleats on each side for added interest.

We have designed this particular valance to answer the need of many customers who don't want to go overboard in both design and spending, but also, to answer the need of many customers who have obstructive windows or doors. This valance works easily on French doors, sliding glass doors and hinged casement windows. And to make sure that it fits your windows and doors, this valance is available in lengths between 10 inches and 16 inches.

You may choose a contrasting fabric for the pleats or use the face fabric for the entire valance. Each cornice board is lined with your chosen face fabric. This curtain comes with two angle brackets and installation instructions. Each valance is fully lined with quality drapery lining. Interlining is optional. Possible widths are between 26 and 60 inches. Available with a 3.5-inch or 5.5-inch return.

Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Can this valance be wider?
The maximum width of board-mounted valances that we can ship is 65 inches. Please take a look at some other valances that are not board-mounted to fit wider windows.

What length should I choose?
For most rooms, either a 12-inch or 14-inch length is of proper scale. For larger rooms with high ceilings and windows, you may choose a 16-inch length. If you need to clear a door or casing window, try a shorter valance installed higher up on the wall so that is stops at the window frame.

How do I install this valance onto a French door?
It has to be an inside mount. The valance is installed to cover the panes of the door.

How do you line the board?
Each board is completely lined with your chosen face fabric.

The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product.
For this particular valance, the main reason why some fabrics are not available is the scale of the patterns. Note that this valance has a shorter length than many of our other valances. Therefore, many large-scale prints are not appropriate for it and you won't be able to select them.

Should a choose a 3.5-inch or 5.5-inch return?
A 5.5-inch return is necessary to clear a pair of custom draperies so you'd select it if you choose to add draperies underneath the valance. A 5.5-inch return also is appropriate for large rooms or rooms with higher ceilings and windows. A 3.5-inch return is more appropriate for small and medium size rooms, or if your window is closer to the corner of the room.
