Also known as a roll-up valance, the Stagecoach valance displays two fabrics as its signature feature. Browse and select your favorite fabrics to fit the decor of your room for a truly custom look. The valance can be rolled up as needed, or it can be released fully to block out the sun or for privacy purposes.
Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
What length should I choose? It varies, depending on what you need and what look you're aiming for. Generally speaking, the valance can roll up to 35 to 50 percent of its rolled-out length. For example, a 70-inch long valance would roll up to a length of about 25 to 35 inches.
What kind of hardware do I need for this valance?Because this valance has no
return, you cannot use a continental or any other
projection rod. You will need a decorative pole up to 1 5/8 inches in diameter with two matching end finials and two matching brackets.
Can I pair this valance up with draperies?Yes. We believe this valance works best underneath draperies. However, if you wish to install it over draperies, you can do that as long as your brackets extend at least 5 inches.
Will this valance work on a bay or bow window? Yes, just make sure to keep the
allowance to a minimum or simply install it inside your
window frame.
I saw in a magazine that the back fabric can slightly show through when the light shines through the windows. How do I achieve this look?Select our medium-weight fabrics, such as cottons, faux silks, or polyesters. Some of our heavier fabrics such as Corvallis, Stanford, Oregon, and Portland will block out the sun more than other fabrics so you will not achieve the “see-through” effect with those fabrics. Also, aim for a higher contrast for the back fabric and choose fabrics that are ligher in color. Finally, choose only our premium lining and do not add
interlining.
What if I don't want the back fabric to show through?Make sure to select felt
interlining under the lining options.
The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product. More than likely, the fabric
repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with perfectly centered prints.
How do I install this valance so that it clears a French door or sliding door?Install it higher up towards the ceiling so that it ends at the top frame of the door. Choose a smaller length that you know will allow the valance to be rolled up to the correct length.
Will the seams be visible? Seams are very common in custom window treatments and occur because fabrics are manufactured in standard widths. Unless you inspect the valance in great detail and look at it up close, they won't be visible. Patterns are matched across the seams, so the seams will be hidden from view.
