If you'd like a simple balloon valance, then you may like the single swoop Roman balloon valance. Its ring-style design allows you to slightly adjust the length for a perfect fit. This particular valance can be outside-mounted or inside-mounted.
The valance is fully lined with our premium lining. Interlining is optional, but it is recommended if you'd like a valance with extra volume. If you choose a fabric with large prints, they will be centered onto each valance. Valance is slightly gathered, has a 3-inch rod pocket and hangs without a return. Possible widths: 27 to 36 inches. For a proper width when gathered, add 2 to 6 inches to the desired valance width. Valance shown on the left is adjusted at an 18-inch length. Ideally, it can be adjusted between 16 and 21 inches in length while still maintaining its balloon shape. This product is custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.
No, this valance hangs flat.
I want to install this valance onto my French door but I am afraid or unable to drill into it. What should I do?
If your door is made of a metallic material that can't be drilled into, try a magnetic curtain rod. There is no drilling involved at all.
Does this valance need to be installed on the window frame like your product image shows?
No, that is just one of the three options. The other options are to either mount it outside the window using either a continental rod or a decorative pole or inside the window itself using a tension rod.
Can I adjust the length of this valance?
Yes, you can, although you can only adjust it by a few inches. The valance is made with ringlets in the back which you can tie together with the provided string. Tie it tightly and the valance assumes a shorter length, tie it loosely and the valance assumes a longer length. It can be adjusted to a slightly shorter or longer length, but we have found that it maintains its ideal shape at a 16- to 21-inch length.
How do I get a balloon valance with more volume?
In that case, we recommend interlining. Interlining is also highly recommended for faux silks for proper shape.
Can I put this valance over draperies?
No, this valance does not have a sufficient return for draperies.
Can I put this valance under draperies?
Great idea. Just make sure to use it as an inside-mount for best results.
