Our custom three scoop valance mostly caters to those designing a youthful or whimsical room. If you need to dress a window in a children's room or a bright and whimsical country kitchen, this valance may be just the right choice. It features a scalloped swoop design. This version is board-mounted and is available in either a 1 1/2, 3 1/2, or 5 1/2-inch depth. You will also find it among our rod pocket valances, should you prefer to install it using a drapery pole instead. The toile shade displayed underneath the valance shows one of our slatted shades, another product that is sold separately.
Possible valance widths: 40, 44, or 46 inches. Excluding trim, the valance is 23 inches long. A 27-inch version is available for tall windows. Each valance is fully lined with quality drapery lining. Trim and blackout lining are optional. If you choose face fabrics with large prints, they will be centered onto each valance.

| Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions | Should I get this valance in a rod pocket or board-mounted version? Either one is possible. However, keep in mind that in order to clear a pair of custom draperies, which are heavy and voluminous, a 5.5-inch return is necessary. Only the board-mounted version offers such a large return.
What length should I get? For most windows, a 23-inch length is appropriate. If the valance is installed more than 9 feet above the floor and you have at least 12 inches between the ceiling and top of your window, a 27-inch length is best.
Should I get blackout lining or premium white lining? Blackout lining pulls a valance taut, gives it more structure and blocks the sun better. Premium white lining also gives a valance some structure and blocks most light, but it gives the valance a more free-flowing look.
The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product. More than likely, the fabric repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with well-centered prints, as well as a product with proper swag volume.
Do I need to add trim? If you want a valance with more structure or just prefer the overall look of trim, then yes. If you prefer not to use trim or want a softer, more free-flowing valance, then you don't need to add trim.
Can you make this valance wider? No, we cannot as that would give you a very noticeable seam that spans across the valance. | |
