is a simple custom valance that can be designed to look much more luxurious than its price suggests. It features 2 1/2-inch tabs and can fit a rich, wooden curtain pole. Choose the same fabric for the flat swags and the trumpet and jabots, or choose different, but coordinating fabrics for added interest.
As expected from a custom window treatment, the valance is fully lined. Each trumpet and jabot is self-lined. The swags are lined with our premium lining. Interlining is optional. The top of each trumpet and jabot features tab tops that can accommodate a curtain pole up to 1 1/2 inches in diameter. A French door version is available for an inside-mount.
Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
I want to install this valance onto my French door but I am afraid or unable to drill into it. What should I do? If your door is made of a metallic material that can't be drilled into, try a magnetic curtain rod. There is no drilling involved at all.
Does this valance have to be made in two different fabrics? Not necessarily. If you prefer the same fabric throughout, you can simply select the same fabric for the swags, trumpet and jabots.
Can I put draperies under this valance?Certainly. You just have to make sure that the bracket of the decorative pole for the valance projects at least 5 inches from the wall. This is necessary to clear custom draperies.
Will this valance work on a bay or bow window? Of course. The beauty of this valance is that it has simple jabots, so it doesn't take up much space. Measure the distance between each individual window. If there is at least a 5-inch gap between each, it should work. If you don't have that much space between each window, you can install the decorative pole onto the window trim. Opt for a decorative pole with finials that don't take up much space.
How would I install this valance on a palladium/arched window?Install the decorative pole at the base of the arch. The pole can be mounted on the window trim itself or on the wall, with a minimal allowance of only an inch or two on each side of the window.
What kinds of trims do you suggest? I'm afraid that I will pick the wrong kind. Each product has already been configured to allow you to choose only trims that will work with it. Short trims are not offered on valances with deep, voluminous folds and similarly, big and bulky trims aren't an option when it comes to scalloped products with sharp edges and curves that need to be sewn with utmost attention to detail. Feel free to choose any trim that the product allows in its drop-down list. And remember, colors don't have to match exactly, but they need to go together.
Why is the fabric that I like not available from the selection?Likely, it is inappropriate and would jeopardize the shape and look of the valance. You will not find such fabrics under options.
