Board-Mounted Queen Valance

Available widths: 14" to 68"

The Queen valance is a luxurious valance that is mounted on a dust board. It features swags that are attached to a backdrop in an accent fabric. To pull the look together, the trumpets are also sewn in the accent fabric. Choose from a 3 1/2-inch or 5 1/2-inch board depth.

Trumpets are self-lined. The rest of the valance is lined with our premium drapery lining. Large prints are centered onto each swag. Interlining and trim are optional. Swag length, excluding trim, can be approximately 19 inches or 21 inches, as needed. Widths up to 68 inches available. This product is custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.

Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Do you cover the board in fabric?
Yes, we cover it in the fabric that you choose for the trumpets and backdrop.

With which fabric are the trumpets lined?
They are self-lined; in other words, the fabric that is on the face of the trumpets is also on the back.

Do I need hardware for this valance?
You will only need anchors and screws. A tape measure, level and drill are also needed to install.

How long does installation usually take?
If there are two people who can help each other, plan on 15 to 30 minutes per window, depending on skill.

Do I need the 3.5-inch or 5.5-inch board depth?
If you choose no draperies underneath the valance or have a small- to medium-sized room, opt for the 3.5-inch return. If you plan on adding draperies underneath the valance, have a large room, or you have a tall window that is at least 9 feet above the floor, then a 5.5-inch depth is best.

What kinds of trims do you suggest? I'm afraid that I will pick the wrong kind.
Each product has already been configured to allow you to choose only trims that will work with it. Short trims are not offered on valances with deep, voluminous folds and similarly, big and bulky trims aren't an option when it comes to scalloped products with sharp edges and curves that need to be sewn with utmost attention to detail. Feel free to choose any trim that the product allows in its drop-down list. And remember, colors don't have to match exactly, but they need to go together.

The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product.
More than likely, the fabric repeat or the composition of the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product that works perfectly.

What does interlining do?
It adds shape, form and fullness to a valance, not to mention that it's the best available insulator for curtains when it comes to blocking out heat and cold.

How do I measure?
You can follow our measuring guide (go back to product and click on "Learn how to measure for custom valances."

Can I get this valance in one fabric only?
Yes, you can. Just select the same fabric under the options for the accent fabric and swags.
