Arched Trumpet Valance - a Priority Windows Design Enlarge Product or View More Custom Products
Fit your bay window, bow window, arched window, palladian window or French door.
We at Priority Windows hold the arched trumpet valance very dear in our hearts. It is one of our first original designs that propelled our company from its humble beginnings to where we are now. To this day, this signature valance is still our most popular and most sought-after design.

The valance features a flat section in an arched shape and unique trumpets that are lined with a contrasting fabric. Multiple valances can also be used to cover each window section of bay windows or bow windows. Excluding trims, the length of the valance is approximately 23 inches. Each valance is fully lined with premium white lining. Blackout lining is optional. Trims are also optional but highly recommended as they give the valance a more beautiful shape. If you choose a fabric with large cameo prints, they will be centered onto each valance. And like all our other products, this product is also custom made to order in our Priority Windows USA workroom.

Product-Specific Frequently Asked Questions
Can this valance be gathered?
No, this valance is meant to hang flat.

What kind of curtain rod do I need for this valance?
It depends on whether you choose a valance with or without a return. Valances without a return will work with a decorative pole up to 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Valances with a return require a 2 1/2-inch wide continental rod.

Do I need to order a valance with or without a return?
If you plan on using a decorative pole with finials, you will need a valance without a return. For projection rods, you will need to add a return for the valance width. Pay attention to this as some of our products ask you for the width INCLUDING the returns and others ask you for the width EXCLUDING the returns. If you will use custom draperies underneath each valance, a valance with a return of 5 inches or more is necessary.

Can I hang draperies over this valance and mount the valance inside the window?
This valance is not meant to be inside-mounted. It is meant to be mounted onto the window frame or wall. We don't recommend draperies over the valance, but instead, you should install them under the valance. Using draperies above this valance will hide the decorative trumpets. If you'd like to use draperies over instead of underneath this valance, try the arched rod pocket valance that we offer without any trumpets.

What kinds of trims do you suggest? I'm afraid that I will pick the wrong kind.
Each product has already been configured to allow you to choose only trims that will work with it. Short trims are not offered on valances with deep, voluminous folds and similarly, big and bulky trims aren't an option when it comes to scalloped products with sharp edges and curves that need to be sewn with utmost attention to detail. Feel free to choose any trim that the product allows in its drop-down list. And remember, colors don't have to match exactly, but they need to go together.

The fabric that I'd like is not an option for this product.
More than likely, the fabric repeat or the way that the prints are centered on the fabric may compromise the shape or look of this valance. We have taken those fabrics off the list so that you get a product with perfectly centered prints.

What is the difference between using blackout lining and premium lining?
The difference is small, but blackout lining pulls the valance taut and gives it a flatter surface and strength. Because this valance has trumpets that give it strength, premium lining will still give it strength. However, the valance will have a more casual, free-flowing look.
